Overview
Electrical Harness and installation Engineer responsible for designing, routing, and installing electrical harnesses for aerospace systems—from concept through to certification and production. Translate system requirements into wiring solutions that work, fit, and can be built and maintained reliably. Work will touch every part of the aircraft, including avionics, power systems, sensors, and lighting. Collaborate with systems engineers, mechanical design teams, and manufacturing to ensure designs are technically solid and physically feasible.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop 2D schematics and 3D harness routing using tools like CATIA V5, Siemens NX, or similar
- Create wire diagrams, connector tables, harness BOMs, and installation drawings
- Ensure designs meet aerospace standards (AS50881, ARP4754, DO-160, etc.)
- Route harnesses through complex mechanical structures and resolve clashes or fit issues
