Electrical & PLC Panel Designer (EPLAN & AutoCAD)

Location: Pune
Experience: 3–8 Years (Flexible based on suitability)
Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
Reporting To: Project Manager / Engineering Head

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical & PLC Panel Designer with strong hands-on expertise in EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD . The role involves designing, developing, and supporting electrical and automation control panels in compliance with international standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical control panel drawings using EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD .

  • Prepare schematics for PLC Panels, MCC, PCC, VFD, and Automation Panels .

  • Create and maintain:

    • General Arrangement (GA) drawings

    • Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

    • Wiring diagrams

    • Loop diagrams

    • Terminal layouts

  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and perform panel component selection as per project and industry standards.

  • Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS, UL , and customer-specific standards.

  • Coordinate closely with PLC programmers, project engineers, and panel manufacturing teams .

  • Provide support during panel fabrication, wiring, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) .

  • Implement client comments, design changes, and revisions in a timely manner.

  • Maintain proper documentation and revision control .

  • Provide technical support during installation and commissioning , when required.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD .

  • Good working knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens / Allen-Bradley / Schneider preferred).

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Control panels

    • PLC I/O wiring

    • VFDs and soft starters

    • Electrical safety devices

  • Solid understanding of industrial automation systems and control philosophy.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID, control philosophy documents, and customer specifications .

  • Familiarity with electrical standards and safety norms .

  • Good communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

  • Experience with PCS7 / TIA Portal projects.

  • Knowledge of EPLAN Pro Panel and 3D panel layout .

  • Exposure to process industries such as Pharma, Chemical, FMCG, or Power.
