YEM Technology is offering an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at the Sino Iron Project , located at Cape Preston, 100 km southwest of Karratha in Western Australia.

This is a FIFO role from Perth, working on an 8:6 roster.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the Electrical Engineering Team at the Power Plant at the Sino Iron Project. The role will include preventative, reactive and shutdown maintenance and project work as required. Assisting engineering to carry out improvements and technical fault finding for the power generation equipment whilst ensuring the safe operation of the Power Station equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Management of electrical projects, including preparation of SOW, evaluation of tenders, inspection of project sites and preparation of progress reports.
• Planning maintenance and shutdown works on fixed plant equipment including general electrical maintenance activities and statutory inspections and testing.
• Managing routine inspections, testing, modifications and preventative maintenance tasks to keep the Power Station running smoothly.
• Maintaining accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and safety compliance as required by company and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Project management skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working within a power generation facility.
• Ability to interpret, identify equipment parts and their function.
• Australian electrical principals and statutory requirements.
• Experience in the use of instrumentation calibration equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings effectively.
• Five years’ experience as an Electrical engineer.

Required Qualifications

• Australian recognised electrical engineering degree.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
• OHS Construction Safety Induction 'White Card'.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical and ongoing drug & alcohol screens.
• Australian work rights.
• WA electrical licence (desirable).
• Working at heights (desirable).
• Confined space (desirable).
