This Casual Journeyperson Electrician position reports to the Manager of Engineering Services, Facilities Maintenance & Engineering (FME) at the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH). The Electrician supports the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical systems within a large, complex acute‑care healthcare environment encompassing approximately 650,000 m². The Electrician performs all required journeyperson‑level duties – installation, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of building electrical systems in accordance with the CEC, NBC, NFPA, applicable safety regulations, and HSS / AHS standards and practices.

Responsibilities include supporting essential and non‑essential electrical infrastructure such as power distribution, emergency generators, UPS systems, automatic doors, lighting, pneumatic tube and telelift systems, motors, controls, and systems supporting clinical and facility operations.
