The Opportunities

We are seeking experienced electricians for Underground Shift Electrician, Electrical Leading Hand, and Electrical Supervisor positions across our existing and exciting upcoming Western Australian operations.

What We're Looking For

Electricians & Electrical Leading Hands

• Experienced Underground Electricians and Leading Hands (hard rock mining)
• WA Electrical Workers Licence (or ability to obtain one)
• Manual C Class driver's licence
• Current Senior First Aid, CPR & Low Voltage Rescue
• Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules
• High Voltage Switching ticket (highly regarded)
• Experience with Sandvik underground mobile equipment (advantageous)
• Ability to carry out electrical installations up to 1000V AC
• Perform scheduled maintenance, statutory testing and inspections
• Service 1000V mobile equipment, including Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) equipment
• Install and maintain underground electrical and communication reticulation systems

Electrical Supervisors

• WA Electrical Licence
• WA Electrical Contractor Nominee (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to accept statutory appointment as Electrical Supervisor
• Ensure compliance with Byrnecut policies and WHS (Mines) Regulations
• Supervise installation, inspection and testing of electrical infrastructure
• Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency
• Lead, mentor and support electrical teams and apprentices
• Apply First Aid, CPR & Low Voltage Rescue
• Minimum 3+ years Supervisory experience
• High Voltage Operations training
• WHS (Mines) Schedule 26 certification
• Experience with Sandvik DD422i, DL432i & DS422i drill rigs
• Understanding of underground communication systems (leaky feeder, Wi-Fi, fibre optic)
• Comprehensive knowledge of AS/NZS electrical standards, WHS (Mines) Regulations, WA Electrical Requirements, WA Electricity (Licensing) Regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
• Proficiency with maintenance management systems, CAD programs and Microsoft Office
