Contract Opportunity


Responsibilities

  • Own and manage system-level architecture for complex electro-mechanical and fluid systems
  • Analyze and optimize interactions between mechanical, electrical, thermal, hydraulic, and control subsystems
  • Evaluate system performance, efficiency, cost, and reliability tradeoffs
  • Design and execute experiments;
    analyze test data to guide architecture decisions
  • Develop electric motor control strategies to deliver precise torque and speed across varying load conditions
  • Define system architecture for MVP prototypes and production-ready designs
  • Lead control system architecture, including safety and fault-handling logic
  • Direct detailed engineering design of components with focus on design for manufacturing and assembly
  • Oversee system integration, skidding, commissioning, and testing
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, pressure, and regulatory standards
  • Lead or participate in hazard and safety reviews (e.G., HAZOP, SIL assessments)
  • Identify technical risks and define mitigation strategies
  • Guide ongoing R&D and continuous product improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with distributed, cross-disciplinary engineering teams


Required Skills

  • Systems engineering experience with complex industrial or process equipment

Strong understanding of:

  • Hydraulics and fluid power systems
  • Thermodynamics and heat transfer
  • Pumps, valves, piping, and fluid flow
  • Pressure vessels and high-pressure systems
  • Experience with electric motors and motor controls:
  • Induction and DC motors
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Torque and speed control strategies
  • Knowledge of electrical and power engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with sensors, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Ability to interpret and apply experimental data and simulation results
  • Familiarity with industrial safety concepts and regulatory standards (e.G., ASME, ATEX, IECEx, SIL)
  • Practical experience in industrial, manufacturing, or process plant environments
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and across distributed teams
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial engineering experience


Preferred Skills

Experience in:

  • Process plant or energy systems
  • High-pressure gas or fluid systems
  • Industrial product commercialization
  • Proficiency in system modeling, simulation, or data analysis tools

Knowledge of:

  • Real gas behavior and gas-liquid interactions
  • Chemical reactions with heat and mass balance
  • Pressure vessel codes and certification processes

Experience with:

  • Design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA)
  • Costing, value engineering, and estimating
  • Failure modes and reliability analysis

Exposure to:

  • Functional safety system design
  • Hazardous area equipment design
  • Prototype build, commissioning, and field testing
  • Startup or early-stage product development experience
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills
