Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician | Now Hiring | Alsip, IL

**Available Shifts:
**

  • Days: 5am-5pm

  • Nights: 5pm-5am
  • Compensation Includes:

  • Starting pay rate of $28-31/hour

  • Sign-on Bonus Program of $2,100
  • Responsibilities

  • Follow all PPE and GMP’s policies, wearing steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as required

  • Ensure that all quality standards are maintained when performing job duties

  • Review electrical malfunctions as they occur in order to determine the cause and solution

  • Monitor radio and respond to calls as needed

  • Review electrical malfunctions as they occur in order to determine the root cause and solution

  • Control wiring knowledge (24vdc and 120vac)

  • Strong understanding of VFD’s

  • Ability to read ladder logic and troubleshoot PLC’s

  • Knowledge of wiring step-up and step-down transformers

  • Handle all electrical wiring, repair, modifications, and upgrades as needed in the plant

  • Monitor plant equipment and facilities in order to discover and prevent potential problems

  • Handle emergency repairs as quickly as possible in order to minimize downtime

  • Repair air valves as needed

  • Repair and monitor all broken machine parts

  • Repair and rebuild drive motors as needed

  • Remain familiar with all electrical equipment used in the plant

  • Keep accurate records on work completed

  • Meet/achieve production goals set forth by management
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic/technician role in a manufacturing environment


  • Experience with VFD Drives and PLCs


  • Eligible to work in the United States


  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen


  • Work overtime as required


  • Ability performs the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation


  • Electrical training/experience with 480 3 phases/machine controls


  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and procedures required


  • Experience operating forklift equipment


  • Ability to successfully multitask in a fast pace environment

  • Satisfactorily completes training courses as determined by management
