Brief Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical/Electronic Hardware Engineer develops embedded electronics, sensor technologies, and systems while supporting product innovation, performance optimization, and compliance with industry standards. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers, advancing Zurn’s mission of delivering intelligent and sustainable water solutions.



Roles and Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and validation of electrical circuits, systems, and components for new and existing products.

• Create and maintain schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials, and technical documentation.

• Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis on prototypes and production units.

• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

• Support prototype builds, design reviews, and product verification and validation activities.

• Ensure designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality protocols. • Assist in the selection and qualification of electrical components and suppliers.

• Manage electrical and electronic engineering deliverables and timelines across multiple projects ensuring alignment with the Stage Gate Product Development Process.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction efforts.

• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams including sales, customer service, and manufacturing and assist in training junior engineers and technicians.

• Promote safety protocols and quality standards in all projects by following company procedures and contributing to process improvements and operational excellence.


Job Specification: (Education, training, and experience)

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field

5 years of relevant experience

Must have:

• Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers.

• Proficiency with circuit board design software (schematic capture and PCB layout).

• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design.

• Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical specifications.

Good to have:

• Proficiency with OrCAD/Allegro circuit board design software.

• Experience with hand soldering and reworking surface-mount components on PCBs.

• Experience with circuit board simulation software.

• Strong understanding of power systems and signal integrity.

• Familiarity with low-power electronics design.

• Experience in all aspects of the product lifecycle and experience with EMC compliance.

• Exposure to product lifecycle management (PLM) and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools / project management (e.g., Azure DevOps)


Must have :

• OrCAD schematic and layout or equivalent software’s

• Microcontroller experience

• UART, SPI, I^2C communication protocols

• Aid the Quality and Engineering department through DVTs, RCAs, and rel testing

• Supports the operations organization through bill of material maintenance and verification.
