Employee Development Specialist (Mid-Level or Senior)

The Production System Training (PST) organization is currently seeking Employee Development Specialists to join their group in Auburn, WA. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in manufacturing skills and machining who has a passion for training the next generation of skilled workers. This position supports our internal New Hire Onboarding program and foundational skills instruction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ability to apply knowledge of instructional skills (e.g. preparation, delivery, summary, assess student progress, remediation, motivation, engagement, etc.) to safely lead learners and manage classroom/lab environments in a professional manner in compliance with company policies

  • Using a variety of media, clearly conveys information and ideas to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the content.

  • Identifies business specific learning objectives and adapts curriculum content and delivery methods

  • Identifies potential issues that impact performance and recommends development of improvement recommendations

  • Able to assess requirements and coordinate with cross-functional team members to ensure commitments are met, customers are supported and business goals are achieved

  • Analyze, validate, optimize and coordinate training requests for new hire, recall, and transfer employees

  • Ability to adapt and address challenging training/learning situations on-the-fly, in order to provide a value-added learning experience for students.

  • Ability to support varying shifts and locations across the region based on training demand

  • Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, ability to present complex information in a clear and simple way

  • Experience teaching peers in a non-classroom setting

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • 5+ years experience in a production-related discipline such as Manufacturing, Quality, Production Engineering, Supplier Management, and/or Supplier Quality

  • Willing to coach learners/students at all levels

  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Fabrication and assembly process knowledge (e.g. seal, bond and ground, mechanical assembly, etc.)

  • Aircraft mechanical and inspection background

  • Background in Quality control, testing and assurance

  • Background in mechanical assembly and surface preparation (hand finishing, shot peen, etc.)

  • Familiar with foundational skills and systems like PSDS, CMES, REDARS, Drawings, Precision Measuring Tools

  • Experience with designing/developing course content and instructional materials

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and pay attention to detail and ensure accuracy

    Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

    Level 3 Summary Pay Range: $90,950 - $123,050

    Level 4 Summary Pay Range: $113,900 - $154,100
