This is a Per Diem Position - Monday - Friday. Expected shifts/hours: depending on staffing needs. We ask all candidates to commit to at least two shifts/month, depending on the Center's needs, and be available on Mondays or Fridays. Pay: $24 per hour. Ambulatory Endoscopy Center of Maryland is an outpatient endoscopic facility specializing in colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and upper endoscopy. We have three GI procedure rooms with state-of-the-art safety and diagnostic equipment, including the addition of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Insufflation during colonoscopy. Position Summary:
Assist in the preparation of patients for endoscopy procedures.
Assists the physician during the endoscopy procedure
Handles patient specimens per policy
Accurately completes laboratory slips and culture/path slips, as requested
After the procedure, restock supplies as appropriate for the next procedure or the end of the day
Follow infection control guidelines.
Assist in the cleaning and sterilization of endoscopy equipment
Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste
Demonstrates an attitude that is caring, respectful, sensitive, tactful, compassionate, and empathetic
Rotate assignments through the procedure room, scope reprocessing, and assisting nurses in pre-op/PACU High School Diploma or equivalent
BLS certification
One (1) year of experience as an endoscopy technician, preferred
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing endoscopic procedures and providing patient care before, during, and after the procedure. This position requires excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of endoscopic equipment and procedures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to providing quality patient care and a passion for learning new techniques.
