**Energy Management Summer Intern - 2026**
Tri-State is an electric utility. We have an Energy Management Intern opportunity for 2026. Students who have successfully completed two (2) to three (3) years of undergraduate study towards a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Data Analytics, Business Administration and Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply. Seniors who will be graduating in December or are planning to attend graduate school in the Fall are also encouraged to apply.
**This summer position offers students hands on experience to work in and learn various aspects of Tri-State’s Demand Response department.**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Assisting with analyzing load data, tracking participation metrics, and preparing visual reports to help evaluate program performance.
+ Researching emerging technologies and benchmarking other utilities’ strategies.
+ Assist with marketing and member engagement by drafting educational materials, coordinating social media campaigns, and organizing outreach events.
+ Manage administrative tasks such as tracking incentive applications, maintaining documentation, and compiling customer feedback to identify barriers and opportunities for improvement.
**Projects may include the following:**
+ Assisting with software implementation to ensure smooth integration of program systems and tools.
+ Contribute to ongoing data visualization efforts that help track and communicate program performance.
**Job Requirements**
+ Familiarity with, or interest in learning data visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI or Tableau to create clear and insightful reports.
+ Strong analytical skills are essential for interpreting complex data sets and ensuring accuracy in reporting.
+ Highly motivated self-starter who has a willingness to learn.
+ Working knowledge of databases, including SQL.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
**Duration, Work Schedule and Location**
+ The duration of the summer internship will be from about the end of May until the end of August.
+ The work schedule includes Monday through Friday, eight hours per day, 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. or potential flexibility of days or hours upon approval, forty hours per week. There is a possibility of telecommuting 40% of the work week.
+ The position is located at Tri-State’s Headquarters at 1100 W. 116 th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80234.
