Energy Storage Engineer (remote option)

Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions

Work Setting: Remote option, with 25% travel for project-specific duties. Driving is required as part of the position duties/work.

Required:

• Experience supporting the design phase and engineering major components for large-scale energy storage projects;

• Travel 25% of the time for project specific duties;

• Active Driver License.

Preferred

• Experience with Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction experience (3+ years);

• Experience in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design;

• Experience with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters;

• Experience with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL, UL, ULA, NFPA , NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections);

• Experience with IEC , , .

Responsibilities

• Support design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects;

• Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency;

• Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions;

• Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure clear communication, and propose solutions;

• Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements;

• Handle other assigned duties as needed;

• Travel 25% of the time for project specific duties.
