The Engineer - 1st Class is a highly skilled, licensed professional responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems such as boilers, HVAC/Mechanical units, and electrical equipment within a large federal facility, requiring extensive knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical equipment, with a high level of autonomy and oversight over junior engineers; Engineer - 1st Class considered the most senior level of stationary engineer within the facility.
