Collins has an opening for an Entry-Level Engineer in our Chicago, IL, office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform a combination of structural inspections and design work and will be mentored by experienced engineers in the office and field. This is a unique chance to be exposed to multiple disciplines within the transportation industry and offers the opportunity to diversify your skill set. Typical Duties and Responsibilities: Perform design and inspection/field work that does not require previous experience. Assist in the completion of inspection and assessment reports. Prepare design computations and quantity estimates. Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare calculation packages and design drawings. Can include limited communication with clients. Instructs draftspersons/technicians on design drawings, data entry, and report preparation.
