Role Summary:
The Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining foundational data pipelines and database structures that support analytics and reporting use cases. This role emphasizes strong database fundamentals, hands-on SQL development, and collaboration with analytics stakeholders to deliver reliable and well-structured data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and near–real-time data pipelines
- Develop and optimize relational data models, including table structures, keys, and indexing strategies
- Write and maintain SQL-based transformations, views, and stored procedures
- Assemble and integrate large, complex datasets that meet business and technical requirements
- Partner with analytics, reporting, and business teams to understand data needs and resolve data issues
- Perform root-cause analysis on data quality, pipeline failures, and performance bottlenecks
- Contribute to documentation and operational best practices
- Support additional data-related initiatives as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Strong experience with SQL development , including:
- Table design and normalization
- Stored procedure and view creation
- Query optimization and performance tuning
- Experience working with relational databases and data warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline development
- Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience with version control tools (GitHub/GitLab)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar tools
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI
- Exposure to Python or similar scripting languages for data processing
- Understanding of basic data governance and data quality principles
