Summary
PCB design engineer will be responsible for layout design activity which involves floor planning, routing, and gerber creation as per the design request received. He should be required to communicate to cross function team for the layout design activity/input/reviews. As a PCB design engineer for the Hardware Tools team, you will be required to interact and collaborate with the global teams and understand their requirements to deliver the quality work.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for PCB design including component placement and completing layout design.
·Responsible for generating the artifacts for the fabrication and assembly.
·Design PCB in accordance with IPC standards.
·Help resolve EQs post artwork delivery during fabrication activity.
·Align with the Process and workflow defined by silicon labs for project execution
·DFx Compliant PCB Design activities
·Stay updated on emerging PCB technologies, tools, and design methodologies.
Education and Experience:
MTech. or B.Tech. in Electronics Eng. (or equivalent education) preferably experience of 3 to 4 years as a PCB design engineer on high speed and mixed signal PCB layout design
Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret PRD and schematic design
Ability to read mechanical files for the drawing study and implement floor planning for PCB design
Experience working with and maintaining component database management tools as well as schematic capture packages, preferably Altium , OrCAD and PADS .
Experience with IPC guidelines and various PCB technologies
Experience in RF layout design is a plus.
Should have knowledge of Highspeed board design
Should have knowledge of EMI/EMC consideration while designing the layout
Hands-on Electrical Engineering or PCB design experience with electrical design, including component/part selection and DFM
Should have knowledge of PCB Fabrication and assembly activities including reflow cycles
Experience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs
Background in mechanical assembly/fabrication
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with manufacturing and engineering teams as well as keen attention to detail
