Engineer - Moulding

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Moulding Engineer to oversee all aspects of our sand moulding operations, with a specific focus on Spheroidal Graphite (SG) iron production. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional, dedicated to process optimization, quality assurance, and achieving production targets in a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise Operations: Supervise day-to-day moulding line operations (e.g., green sand, no-bake processes) to meet daily production targets.
• Process Control: Ensure correct sand quality parameters are maintained (moisture, resin ratio, hardness, etc.) and monitor sand mixing, reclamation, and distribution processes.
• Methoding & Gating: Work on methoding, gating system design, and New Product Development (NPD), utilizing simulation software (e.g., MAGMASOFT) where possible, to optimize casting yields and quality.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct in-process inspections, monitor Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes, and analyze casting rejection instances to implement corrective actions and achieve quality parameters.
• Metallurgy: Collaborate with the metallurgy lab to handle metallurgical aspects specific to SG iron castings, ensuring properties like plasticity and toughness are met through correct spheroidization and inoculation treatments.
• Maintenance & Safety: Coordinate with the maintenance team for routine checks and reporting of mechanical or process abnormalities, and ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain daily production records and prepare comprehensive quality and production reports for management.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Proven experience in a high-pressure machine moulding or sand casting environment, specifically with knowledge of SG and Grey Iron foundry processes.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of casting manufacturing processes and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production).
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office and basic knowledge.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to train and manage personnel.
