Engineer - Operations Planning

About the role

We currently have a 12-month full-time contract role for an experienced Engineer to join the Operations Planning team. This role will see you provide detailed engineering, analytical, programming support to solve challenging technical problems, participating and contributing to projects that improve the operation of the power system in AEMO’s Operations Division. This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney (CBD or Norwest), Brisbane or Adelaide.
What you will be doing Perform complex computer-based network analysis to identify issues/violations on the interconnected National Electricity Market (NEM) and provide operational advice and instructions to the Real Time Operations team.
Assess planned network outages in the short term (ST) timeframe and over multiple regions to identify and determine any corrective action required for identified system security and reliability issues.
