About the Role
As a Production Engineer your primary focus will be generating drill & blast plans, drive QAQC, and managing daily data.
- Demonstrate commitment to optimise resource usage to deliver on expectations
- Generate weekly and rolling monthly schedules
- Incorporate underground mining principles and production constraints across the scheduling process
- Generate level development plans and stope notes
- Monitor compliance to weekly and monthly schedules
- Monitor for overdraw requirements and ensure approval processes enacted and followed
- Generate drill and charge plans per area design standard and undertake reconciliations to identify opportunities to improve
- Data collection, entry and analysis of production physicals and performance
- Monitor drilling condition, inspect charges and evaluate the blast results; QAQC inspections
- Trouble shooting and error proofing the blast control units
- Communicate schedule with key stakeholders
- Mentor graduate and new starters as required
About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and detail-oriented Production Engineer who is passionate about safety, technical planning, and driving operational excellence in underground mining.
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Class “C” Australian Manual Drivers Licence
- Proficient in Deswik CAD & UGDB
- Experience with Deswik IS.
- Experience with underground hard rock mining operations
- Experience with long‑hole drill & blast methods
- Knowledge of paste fill operation
About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a long-life gold‑copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia’s East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open‑pit and underground mining and Australia’s third‑largest gold‑copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold. The site operates on a fly‑in fly‑out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
