Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our high-performing team at Malcolm Thompson Pumps.

The Engineering Manager leads the Engineering Team and provides production engineering expertise across the Foundry and Machine Shop. The role is responsible for designing and specifying engineered solutions, managing projects from quote to customer sign-off, and driving quality, efficiency and continuous improvement while supporting revenue and profit objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and motivate the Engineering Team
  • Design, specify and cost engineered solutions, including moulds, jigs and fixtures
  • Manage projects end-to-end from quotation through to delivery and customer sign-off
  • Support tender preparation, including solution development
  • Maintain accurate production documentation
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Deliver technical training and product application support
  • Provide technical support to customers, including warranty support

About You

  • Mechanical Engineering background with strong CAD capability
  • Experience leading engineering teams in manufacturing or heavy industry
  • Strong problem-solving and system analysis skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience preparing technical documentation, tenders and costings
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
