Responsibilities
As an Engineering Manager, you are responsible for all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.
In addition, you will:
Review construction plans and permits for contractual requirements and constructabilityEnsure that all phases of Engineering and all prerequisites (permitting, construction drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), Purchase Orders (POs), are tracked, monitored, and controlled, ensuring completionProvide notification when prerequisites are completed, and work can be assigned and transitioned to the next phase of executionAct as an advisor to the engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operationsManage subcontracted engineering vendorMonitor project schedules, mitigating and/or justifying schedule deviationsEnsure engineering quality from initiation to closeout and completionCoordinate with the Client to verify the quantity of work completed and document any deviation from work completed versus values in the BOMLead weekly status meetings with the ClientCoordinate with other internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with project requirementsProvide engineering guidance on the construction of the outside plant fiber optics systemKeep current on engineering trends and developments to recommend changes in program or design methods Qualifications
About You:
You have a track record of completing work with a high level of qualityYou have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your workDemonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areasHave 10 years of engineering experience with at least two years of management experience in utility systems or roadway designHave a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related fieldAble to review, understand, and contribute to project execution plans and schedulesPossess strong teamwork and communication skillsPossess strong multi-tasking and organizational skillsAbility to read and understand construction drawings and specificationsAble to work within a PMO structure organizationAble to manage subcontractorsHave a good understanding of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)Have a valid driver’s licenseCompensation of $80,000-$95,000 annually, depending on the experience.
