Job Description
A great opportunity in a newly created role to act as a 'player manager', supervising a small team of engineers whilst taking a lead hands on role, particularly with regards to electrical fault finding. Working for a leading FMCG business, the business are on a journey to transform their engineering function from one that, as of a year ago, was very reactive with a lack of systems and processes. Fast forward a year and breakdowns have dramatically improved, the right systems are in place and the foundation is set to create a good Engineering department.
This role will act as the no.2 to the Engineering Manager. There are a small team of multi skilled engineers, but there is an over reliance on the Engineering Manager for strong electrical skills, which means he is spending too much of his day on maintenance as opposed to CAPEX and more strategic work.
