Qualifications

1.A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in English Education

2.Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in teaching the English Language at the Upper primary and Junior High level.

3.Excellent subject matter knowledge and knowledge of the subject curriculum

4.Proficient in differentiated teaching and assessment and is able to apply the method in the classroom

5.Proficiency in modern educational technology and teaching pedagogy.

Key Responsibilities

▪Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning.

▪Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.

▪Assess and record student progress and provide grades and feedback.

▪Develop and construct standard test for learners’ assessment

▪Apply differentiated teaching and assessment in the classroom.

▪Ignite learners’ interest in reading and creative writing.

▪Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.

▪Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and support of student organizations.

▪Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, supervisors regarding student progress and student needs.

▪Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

▪Able to motivate learners to study and perform high in achievement test relative to the subject.

▪Able to develop strategic plan which prepare learners to excel in English Language at the BECE

▪Able to implement remediation strategies to support learners with reading and writing challenges.
