Enterprise DNS & DHCP Operations Engineer -L1
Role Purpose
The L1 Enterprise DNS & DHCP Operations Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day monitoring, basic configuration, and operational support of enterprise DNS (BIND & Microsoft AD DNS) and DHCP services. The role focuses on service availability, routine changes, documentation, and escalation to L2/L3 teams when required.
Key Responsibilities
DNS Operations (BIND & AD DNS)
- Monitor DNS services and servers using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., HPOM or equivalent).
- Perform routine DNS record management:
- A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, PTR, NS records.
- Create and manage DNS zones on Master and Slave servers as per approved requests.
- Configure and maintain DNS forwarders and zone delegations.
- Support IP address changes and FQDN updates following approved change procedures.
- Validate DNS resolution, replication, and zone transfers.
