CropXplore is building a hyperlocal agritech platform combining agriculture drones, crop monitoring, AI-based insights, and farmer services . The Entomology Intern will work at the intersection of insect science and precision agriculture , supporting pest identification, surveillance, and data-driven crop protection strategies.

This internship offers hands-on field exposure alongside modern tools such as drones and digital platforms.

• Assist in identification of major insect pests across crops (paddy, turmeric, banana, vegetables, orchards, etc.)
• Monitor pest incidence and population levels in farmer fields
• Record crop stage, pest severity, and damage symptoms

• Conduct regular field visits with operations and drone teams
• Support pest scouting before and after drone spraying
• Capture geo-tagged pest and crop health data

• Assist in recommending IPM practices under supervision
• Help evaluate effectiveness of control measures
• Support biological and eco-friendly pest management approaches

• Work with drone teams to:
• Plan pest-specific spraying schedules
• Validate spray timing and dosage
• Correlate drone monitoring data with pest incidence

• Support farmer awareness on pest life cycles and safe control methods
• Assist in demonstrations and field training programs
• Translate technical recommendations into farmer-friendly language

• Practical entomology in real farm conditions
• Pest dynamics across seasons and crops

• Use of digital tools, dashboards, and AI-based monitoring
• Exposure to export-oriented residue and compliance considerations

• Students pursuing or completed BSc / MSc in Entomology, Agriculture, or Allied Sciences
• Basic knowledge of insect pests and crop protection
