About the Role
As an Environmental Consultant with our client, a lead in the Urban & Infrastructure Industry in Western Australia, you will focus on office‑based tasks including analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, specializing in impact assessments and approval compliance. Your responsibilities include leading state‑wide intrusive investigations, conducting site inspections, and preparing technical reports for environmental assessments. Your role will utilize expertise in compliance and approval guidance to inform decisions and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking due diligence / risk assessments (submitted as Impact Assessment Requests) of operational maintenance and projects and advising of requirements to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Supporting drafting and development of Native Vegetation Clearing Permits, referrals and other environmental approvals from DWER (Department of Water and Environmental Regulation).
- Collecting and reviewing approvals compliance information.

Key Criteria
- Degree qualification in environmental science or ecology discipline, zoology.
- Significant consulting experience as an environmental scientist / advisor within the compliance and approvals sector.
- 2+ years experience in various environmental services.
- Proven experience in proposal development and project management and working as part of a team.
- Proven experience in supervision of junior team members, with the ability to mentor, and taking a leading role in field surveys.
- Ability to deliver critical project outcomes under pressure with enthusiasm and drive.
