Equipment Operator NCCER Instructor

Position Overview
The Equipment Operator NCCER Instructor supports apprentice equipment operators in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to progress through apprenticeship levels. Students will primarily engage in asynchronous learning, with the majority of their time spent on self-paced eLearning.
Estimated weekly instructor hours range from 3–5 hours per student cohort, focused on guidance, assessment, and remediation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instruction & Training Delivery (40–55%)
- Assign online NCCER module courses, monitor student success, and proactively contact learners who are falling behind.
- Deliver weekly live online review sessions tied to student assessment areas that need improvement.
- Schedule assignments, activities, and evaluations while monitoring comprehension and completion.
- Utilize NCCER-developed lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.
- Review student assessment scores to identify topics needing remediation and focus live training on those areas.
2. Curriculum, Compliance & Assessment (30–35%)
- Assign online quizzes, exams, and reading assignments; provide timely feedback to students.
- Document and report student attendance, performance, competencies, and RTI hours to ProScore’s apprenticeship coordinators.
- Conduct possible onsite student performance evaluations at construction sites, requiring minor travel.
3. Student Support & Advising (10–15%)
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and progress.
- Provide academic support, tutoring, and remediation as needed.
4. Program Administration & Coordination (10–15%)
- Submit weekly attendance and progress reports to ProScore apprenticeship coordinators.
- Attend NCCER instructor certification training as required.
- Support the Training Program Director in program compliance, audits, and improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to program improvement initiatives and stakeholder reporting.
Experience & Requirements
- 3-4 years journey worker experience; credentials preferred.
- Teaching or training experience preferred.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of NCCER curriculum, construction equipment operations, and apprenticeship training.
- Ability to travel occasionally for onsite student evaluations.
