Job Description



Morgan Corp. is seeking an Estimator to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Estimator will support the Estimating team in all aspects of estimating, including quantity take-offs, pricing, and bidding for heavy civil construction projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Attend pre-bid meetings

  • Bid package review (Plans, Specifications, CAD, Geotechnical Report, etc.)

  • Detailed quantity takeoff and summary (Earthwork, Utilities, and Paving)

  • Communication with clients for bid requirements

  • Bid file document control

  • Vendor and Subcontractor solicitation and quote review

  • Develop and complete estimates for projects

  • Work with clients on preliminary project budgets

  • Maintain existing and develop new client relationships

  • Pre-construction budgeting and turnover

  • Assist with the training of junior-level estimators

  • Some travel, including overnight required (<15%)

    • Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in civil estimating and/or project management preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or mining engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred, or Associate degree in drafting, CAD Operator, or CAD Technician, or a related field

  • Detail-oriented and a problem solver

  • Experience with and proficiency in the following: Microsoft Office, B2W estimating software or equivalent, Agtek takeoff software, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, Google Earth, and Bluebeam

    • Work Environment:


    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, grasp, reach with hands and arms, see, speak, and hear. Frequently stand and walk. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or bend. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Most work is performed in office environment.
