Position Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair ship's Electrical and Electronic equipment.
- Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safe, efficient maintenance of the vessels electrical and electronic systems including, but not restricted to alternators/generators, motors, wiring, switchboards, lighting systems, electronic equipment, communication and navigation equipment.
- Ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of all flame proof and intrinsically safe equipment and therefore be fully conversant with the relevant codes of practice and maintenance techniques associated with the equipment installed.
- Familiarizing himself with the ships electrical drawings, manuals and test instruments and keep in good order and, update drawings and manuals as necessary.
- Following the requirements of the vessel planned maintenance system he must undertake the responsibility for the repair and maintenance of any items as directed.
