Position: Student Life Assistant – Events & Communication Assistant
Reports to: Student Life Manager
Location: CIEE Barcelona, Spain

Position OverviewThis position will support the Student Life department in deliveringa high-quality student experience at CIEE Barcelona. The role involvesassistingwith the planning and execution of student activities, cultural events, day trips, and arrivals. The Student Life Assistant will also play an active role in communication and marketing initiatives to ensure clear, engaging, and effective outreach to studentsand partners. The position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities Communication- Assistin creating and implementing the social media content calendar (Instagram andLinkedin) bybringing fresh ideas,gathering relevant materials,editing videos, editing creativeposts, managing the community.
- Create and implement communication materials such as newsletters, handouts, and Eventbrite events.
- Work with the Student LifeManager tomaintainclear and effective communication with studentsregardingactivities, trips, and important updates.
- Provide support in the definitionof the marketing plan of CIEE Barcelonaandimplement marketing actions likepaid advertising campaigns (Social and Google ads), the production of marketing collateral (flyers, one-pagers), and organic social media management
- Assistin managinglogisticsfor tripsand activities, including booking suppliers, transportation, and venues.
- Collaborate with the Student LifeManagerin developing and executing the agenda for semester activities and day trips that align with the learningobjectivesof various programs.
- Helpmonitorexpenses to ensure activities stay withinbudget andassistwith managing supplier invoices in collaboration with the administrative team.
- Provide support, whenrequired, for corporate and student-focused events, ensuring their effective organization and execution to deliver meaningful and enriching experiences
- Provide support tologisticsfor students’ arrivals, including airport pick-up and transfer to accommodations, while also managing venue rentals, catering, and setup for orientation sessions.
- Halfof yourworking hours will be at reception.You’llbe the friendlyfacegreeting and helping students, faculty, visitors, and staff.You'llfilter student questions before passing them to coordinators, answer and redirect phone calls and communications, handlemailand packages. Provide general services support such as maintenance and classroom management and other dutiesrequiredwhen needed.
- Studies in RRPP,MarketingorCommunications.
- Skilled in social media management and content creation,with additional experience in event organization
- Fluency in Catalan,Spanishand English (English level should be at least C1).
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills: familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Adobe, Final Cut.
- Ability to handle multiple ongoing tasks and prioritize appropriately.
- Flexible and able to respond quickly to changing circumstances. Must have a high tolerance for ambiguity.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Commitment to customer service and professionalism.
- Demonstratedintegrity, self-motivation, and a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to apply good judgment under pressure and to make reasoned and informed decisions in sensitive situations.
- Availability to travel on student day trips onsome weekendsand during some evenings whenrequired.

- Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8.30-10:30to 17.30h-19:30h (this will bedeterminedduring the selection process)and Friday 8.30h to 14.30h.
