About the Role

Smith & Co is seeking experienced Excavator Operators to support a wide range of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 civil contractors across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and surrounding regions. These roles are offered on a casual basis with strong ongoing hours and the potential for full-time employment following a successful probation period.

You’ll be operating modern excavators fitted with GPS technology, completing earthworks and civil construction activities on active job sites. With access to a broad client base, this role provides exposure to varied projects and the opportunity to secure long-term, stable work in the civil construction sector.

Job Details

• Pay: $43–$50 per hour + penalties + travel and meal allowances
• Shifts: Day shifts commencing between 6:30am, working 8–12 hours per day
• Projects: Subdivisions, roadworks, TMR infrastructure, land restoration
• Locations: Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich

What We’re Looking For

• Demonstrated experience operating excavators on civil construction projects
• GPS machine control experience (Trimble and/or Topcon preferred)
• Relevant RII machinery tickets
• Current White Card
• Physically capable and willing to assist with general site duties when required
• Reliable, punctual, and available for Monday–Friday work
• Strong commitment to safety standards and site procedures
