Excavator Operator – Commercial Plumbing Projects (plus Skid Steer advantageous)
IM Partners is recruiting on behalf of Connekt Plumbing , a South Australian commercial plumbing contractor delivering Tier 1–3 projects across Adelaide and selected regional sites.
This is a critical, site‑based role supporting Connekt’s on‑site plumbing works. We are seeking experienced, ticketed excavator operators who value steady local work, clear standards, and being part of a professional site team.
The role
This position is embedded within Connekt Plumbing’s site teams and supports live commercial plumbing projects.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Operating excavators primarily in the 4-tonne to 14-tonne range, with occasional work up to 20-tonne
- Operating skid steer / bobcat on active construction sites (advantageous but not essential)
- Trenching and excavation works associated with commercial plumbing installations
- Working independently to line, level, and specification
- Coordinating closely with plumbers, supervisors, and site management
- Maintaining plant, site safety, and housekeeping standards
Work is primarily Adelaide‑based , with some regional South Australian work as required.
What we’re looking for
This role suits operators who:
- Are ticketed excavator operator with at least 3 years of experience
- Have experience working with a plumbing contractor and/or Tier 1 builder
- Are comfortable operating independently on live commercial sites
- Understand the coordination required when working around active trades
- Are reliable, consistent, and take pride in how work is delivered
Licences and requirements
- White Card (essential)
- Relevant plant operator tickets (essential)
- Current driver’s licence (essential)
- HR or MR licence highly regarded , including the ability to load/unload plant
- Willingness to participate in pre‑employment medical, functional capacity assessment, and drug & alcohol testing
- Ongoing fitness‑for‑work expectations apply
Remuneration
This role is paid on a structured hourly rate plus applicable site allowances , aligned to the Connekt Plumbing EBA.
This is a stable, long‑term position suited to operators seeking consistent work rather than FIFO or short‑term project cycling.
