About the Role
The Executive Chef is responsible for overall kitchen operations at 4 star Hotel in Aligarh, including menu planning, food quality, hygiene, cost control, and staff management. The role ensures high-quality food production while maintaining brand standards, safety, and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Kitchen & Food Operations
- Plan and design menus in line with brand standards
- Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation
- Supervise daily food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and 5S practices
- Staff Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff
- Ensure teamwork, discipline, and smooth kitchen operations
- Conduct performance reviews and staff development
- Cost & Inventory Control
- Control food cost, wastage, and portion control
- Monitor inventory, ordering, and proper storage
- Coordinate with purchasing and approved vendors
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and hotel SOPs
- Enforce safe handling of equipment and materials
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections and audits
- Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with service, banquets, and management teams
- Handle guest feedback and special dietary requests
- Prepare kitchen performance and cost reports
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Executive Chef
- Experience in star hotels or branded properties preferred
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team-handling skills
- Excellent culinary knowledge and creativity
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP preferred)
- Ability to work under pressure in a hotel environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in high-volume kitchen operations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
