Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative scientist to join our Upstream Mammalian Research & Development team . This role will focus on the design, development, and optimization of mammalian cell culture processes to support biologics discovery, development, and manufacturing. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing pipeline molecules from early-stage research through clinical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Cell Line Development & Culture
- Develop, maintain, and optimize mammalian cell lines (e.g., CHO, HEK293) for biologics production.
- Evaluate clone performance and productivity using advanced screening methods.
- Process Development
- Design and execute experiments to optimize upstream processes including media, feeds, and bioreactor parameters.
- Scale-up processes from bench to pilot scale, ensuring robustness and reproducibility.
- Innovation & Technology
- Implement cutting-edge technologies such as high-throughput bioreactor systems, omics-based analysis, and automation.
- Drive innovation in cell culture strategies to improve yield, quality, and efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with downstream, analytical, and quality teams to ensure seamless process integration.
- Provide technical expertise to support regulatory filings and technology transfer to manufacturing.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare detailed experimental protocols, reports, and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with GLP/GMP standards and company policies.
Qualifications
- Education : Ph.D. or M.S. in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Cell Biology, or related field.
- Experience :
- 4–10 years (Ph.D.) or 5–10 years (M.S.) in upstream mammalian cell culture R&D within the biologics industry.
- Hands-on experience with fed-batch and perfusion processes, bioreactor operations, and process scale-up.
- Technical Skills :
- Strong knowledge of mammalian cell biology, metabolism, and protein expression.
- Proficiency in bioreactor systems (stirred-tank, single-use).
- Familiarity with analytical tools (HPLC, ELISA, flow cytometry).
