Responsibilities:
Development: Independently formulate new fastener coatings for locking and sealing and optimize existing systems from concept to release.
Analysis: Evaluate results against prescribed guidelines, standards, and internal quality criteria.
Testing: Plan and run lab tests (e.g., chemical and mechanical properties, rheology, adhesion, corrosion) and document them transparently.
Problem-solving: Identify root causes in straightforward to moderately complex cases and implement pragmatic corrective actions.
Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Sales while continuously building process and customer knowledge.
Knowledge sharing: Explain complex topics clearly and provide informal onboarding support to new team members.
Commercial focus: Balance cost, quality, and time-to-market, aligning your work with business objectives.
Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Coatings Technology, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering—or equivalent experience; Dipl.-Chemist or state-certified coatings technician welcome.
Expertise: Fundamentals of binder, pigment, and additive chemistry as well as curing mechanisms.
Experience: Hands-on experience in coating formulation and application testing (from early to solid level).
Methods: Comfortable with lab routines incl. test planning, data evaluation, basic statistics/DoE (nice to have), and documentation in LIMS/ERP.
Languages: Very good German (spoken and written); good English skills.
Work style: Independent, structured, quality- and safety-conscious; team-oriented with a strong learning mindset.
