We are currently looking for an Export & Logistics Lead for our Cologne office (ideally with a background in export and logistics – for example as a Logistik Manager or Supply Chain Manager).

What We’re Looking For

• C1/C2 or business fluent in German & English. Another EU language would be a plus (ES/FR/IT/NL). Spanish or French would be a strong plus.
• Proven expertise in cross-border automotive export/logistics experience, ideally in remarketing or wholesale, across multiple EU and non-EU countries. 
• Strong understanding of EU VAT rules for B2B (net) sales and export declarations for non-EU shipments
• Proven track record working with logistics providers, freight forwarders and compounds – confident managing buyer-arranged transport.
• Hands-on experience scaling a new function or business unit in a dynamic environment.
• Comfortable leading change initiatives, writing SOPs and playbooks.
• Proficient with case-management tools (e.g. Salesforce) and MS Office; excellent written documentation skills.
• Exposure to automation tools (e-docs, TMS/track & trace, API/EDI integrations).
• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business. Proven experience is equally valued.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and co-ordinate the day-to-day export operations for vehicles sold on our B2B auction platform across EU and selected non-EU markets.
• Act as a senior player-coach – handle complex export cases, make final release decisions, ensure VAT and export compliance.
• Manage all export evidence (CMR/PoD, deregistration, MRN/IE599, invoices, carrier docs) and ensure each export case is complete and audit-ready before closure.
• Coordinate buyer-arranged collections – verify carriers, schedule pickups and align with compounds.
• Coach and support Specialists, ensuring consistent quality, reduced rework and operational excellence.
• Design and maintain SOPs, templates, checklists, SLAs and quality controls.
• Build and scale a new export function from the ground up – design processes, set standards, implement controls and lead market go-lives.
• Own country rollouts – plan, execute and oversee readiness, training and go-live support with cross-functional partners.
• Drive program governance – run weekly risk/readiness meetings, track actions, decisions and delivery milestones.
• Lead provider strategy – source, onboard and manage logistics partners, monitor performance and implement improvements.

Note:

This is a senior functional role without direct reports initially. As we scale the team, you will gradually step into people leadership and take on line management responsibilities for Export & Logistics Specialists.
