We have an immediate career opportunity for a qualified Export Lead. The Export Lead verifies tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise exported/imported to/from foreign destinations and examines various documents including invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements. The Lead ensures compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products.
Key Accountabilities:
· Guides export clearance support activities in the gateway environment in an efficient and cost-effective manner
· Coordinates AES corrections upon Customer Request and ensures their timely completion
· Understands compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products being shipped through all DHL facilities
· Monitors policies, procedures and service standards for customs clearance operations and ensures those policies and procedures are consistently followed
· Responsible for meeting key performance indicators targets for a given product
· Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes
Skills & Qualifications:
- Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in function or business area targeted to the implementation of process simplification and uniform practices.
- Direct experience with the regulatory matters of US Customs and Border Protection in addition to U.S. Export Controls under the Bureau of Industry and Security (U.S. Department of Commerce) and the U.S. Department of State (Directorate of Defense Trade Controls).
- Knows and effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relative to quality and productivity improvements, training, budgeting and cost control, and progressive techniques in area of specialization.
- Prior experience in a leadership role within either the Air Integrator or Freight Forwarding industry segment with at least one year of experience
- Must understand approaches for work direction, motivation, and goal-setting
