External Supply Chain Manager – Bayer

Vital to ensuring seamless product availability for our Pharmaceuticals portfolio, you will manage the supply chain planning with external contract manufacturing partners (CMOs), driving operational implementation of end-to-end supply chain strategies, focusing on inventory and risk management for existing portfolio and new product launches.

Responsibilities
  • Play a pivotal role in CMO governance as the Supply Chain Management contact in a cross‑functional team.
  • Own supply chain operations for the assigned CMO, providing production plans, ensuring timely supply of materials, and placing purchase orders.
  • Ensure correctness and consistency of supply planning‑related master data and planning parameters in relevant systems.
  • Enable timely and correct setup of new supply points in relevant IT systems for planning, execution, and product change management.
  • Constantly strive to increase process and systems capabilities in the community.
Qualifications
  • Hold a degree in supply chain, engineering, computer science, economics, or a related field.
  • Bring experience in supply chain, procurement, quality, R&D, operations, or commercial roles, preferably in Life Sciences or FMCG environment.
  • Demonstrated strategic, analytical, achievement‑oriented mindset; strong data management and analysis skills.
  • Adaptable problem‑solver, comfortable with ambiguity and fast‑paced change.
  • Proficient with supply chain software, process automation, and data quality standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and GMP compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical environment.
  • Champion teamwork, continuous improvement, and value stream optimization.
  • Skilled in leveraging GenAI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) for planning, automation, and productivity.
  • Fluent in English; German and Spanish are a plus.
