About the Role:

Cheesewalk is seeking an experienced Fabric Merchandiser / Women’s Garment Merchandiser to work on a full-time basis. This role involves sourcing, negotiating, and managing fabrics and trims for our women’s wear collections, coordinating with vendors and suppliers, and ensuring high-quality production that aligns with brand standards and timelines.

Responsibilities:

• Source fabrics, trims, and accessories for women’s apparel as per seasonal requirements
• Negotiate prices, lead times, and terms with suppliers to meet budget and delivery goals
• Coordinate with pattern masters, sampling units, and production teams to ensure accurate execution
• Conduct quality checks for fabrics and final garments before production
• Maintain detailed records of sourcing, costing, and approvals
• Track orders with mills/suppliers and follow up for timely delivery
• Liaise with factories to address any technical or production-related issues
• Stay updated with market trends, fabric innovations, and new suppliers
• Support in developing swatch libraries and seasonal mood boards

Requirements & Skills:

• Proven experience as a fabric merchandiser or garment merchandiser, preferably in women’s wear
• Strong vendor network in fabric and trims sourcing
• Knowledge of fabric types, compositions, and garment construction
• Good negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Organised, detail-oriented, and solution-focused
• Based in Mumbai (preferred) for ease of coordination
