Study blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece. Select, setup and install proper punch/die combinations (based on tonnage requirements and desired bend results), and materials on machines as necessary to produce parts required. Calculate and set controls to regulate machine factors, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control according to guidelines and procedures. Load programs, start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance parts, and adjust machine controls and parameters as required. Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary. Store and mark complete parts as required to assist downstream processes.
