About the Role


We are seeking a hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and efficiency of our work environment. This role is designed for a proactive leader who possesses strong facilities management experience and the technical skill set to handle minor repairs personally, reducing the need for external vendors. You will ensure our offices operate smoothly, remain compliant with health and safety regulations, and provide a secure, comfortable space for all employees.


Key Responsibilities


  • Maintenance Oversight: Manage daily upkeep of office spaces, common areas, and equipment.
  • Hands-on Repair: Perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Preventative Strategy: Develop and execute maintenance schedules to keep facilities in optimal condition.
  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure alignment with health and safety regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Supervise external contracts for large projects, cleaning services, and security.
  • Budget & Inventory: Monitor facilities-related expenses and maintain an inventory of necessary maintenance supplies.
  • Emergency Response: Act as the primary point of contact for facility-related emergencies to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise onsite janitorial and safety staff.

Requirements


  • Experience: 3+ years of experience leading facilities and maintenance areas (Essential).
  • Education: Middle School or higher (Preferable).
  • Language: Proficiency in Spanish and English (Level B2+ preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Mid-level computer skills (Essential).
  • Expertise: Solid knowledge of domestic works, including carpentry, plumbing, and electricity.
  • Certifications: Proven training in electrical maintenance, Civil Protection, or an EHS background is preferred.
  • Physical Ability: Must be comfortable with long periods of walking, physical effort, and controlled risk activities.

Schedule & Work Conditions


  • Shift: 9-hour shifts with a variable agenda (e.g., 11:00 am - 11:00 pm).
  • Flexibility: Requires schedule flexibility on weekends and the ability to travel out of the city or country if demanded by organizational needs.
  • Travel: Includes oversight across multiple sites, including Tijuana Centro, Tijuana Rio, and Mexicali.
