ABOUT TATA ELECTRONICS: Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. Job Summary:
The Facility Engineer – Chemical Systems is responsible for the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of chemical utility systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing. The role ensures uninterrupted supply of high-purity chemicals, compliance with stringent EHS and regulatory standards, and high availability of chemical facilities to meet fab production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Chemical Systems Operations
Operate and maintain bulk and specialty chemical systems including acids, solvents, CMP slurries, and specialty process chemicals.
Manage chemical storage, distribution, delivery, and point-of-use systems within the fab.
Ensure reliable operation of chemical waste collection, neutralization, and treatment systems.
Safety, EHS & Compliance
Ensure compliance with EHS standards, SEMI guidelines, ISO systems, and local statutory regulations.
Conduct risk assessments, HAZOP, safety audits, and emergency drills related to chemical systems.
Support incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Monitoring & Control
Monitor chemical systems through SCADA/BMS/DCS and respond to alarms and excursions.
Track system performance, chemical consumption, leaks, and contamination risks.
Maintain SOPs, MSDS documentation, and permit-to-work systems.
Maintenance & Reliability
Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance, calibration, and upgrades.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for safety and uptime.
Project & Coordination
Support installation, hook-up, testing, and commissioning of new chemical systems.
Interface with process engineering, EHS, construction, and equipment teams.
Manage vendor performance, service contracts, and spare parts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience
3–8+ years of experience in chemical facilities, utilities, or process systems. Experience in semiconductor fabs, electronics manufacturing, chemical plants, or high-purity industries is preferred.
