Job Overview


A top manufacturing company is in search of an Industrial Electrician to join their production team in Freeport, IL. The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in a heavy industrial setting. This role is essential in ensuring safe operations, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Main Responsibilities


  • Installation, troubleshooting, and upkeep of electrical equipment, wiring, PLCs, and control systems.




  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on plant electrical systems, machinery, and production lines.




  • Identifying and resolving electrical issues promptly and safely.




  • Interpreting electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.




  • Collaborating with maintenance and production teams to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.




  • Keeping accurate maintenance records and documentation.




  • Ensuring adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and electrical codes.




  • Assisting in training operators and maintenance staff on equipment operation and safety procedures.


  • Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical systems preferred.




  • At least 2 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, Electrical Technician, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.




  • Proficiency in industrial electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls.




  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.




  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and problem-solving under pressure.




  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E safety standards.




  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Work Environment: Heavy manufacturing facility; exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.




  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, climb, and work in confined spaces; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.




  • Schedule: 2nd shift based on business needs; overtime and weekends may be required.
