1The City of Niagara Falls Recreation and Culture Department is looking for a Farmers Market, Events, and Programs student to join our team for the 2026 season. The Farmers Market, Events, and Programs Student will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the planning and implementation of numerous community recreation and culture special events, including but not limited to assisting with other city programs.
Work Schedule:
May 4 to August 21
8:30 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday to Friday
Saturday 6:30 am to 1:30 pm (Some evenings required)
August 22 to October 10
Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (Day and hours may vary)
Saturday 6:30 am to 1:30 pm
Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of all aspects of a variety of community special events.
Assist with the implementation of all aspects of a weekly farmers market.
Assist with special event evaluation and follow-up.
Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing community programming.
Assist with administrative and clerical work as needed at various recreation and culture facilities.
Requirements:
Experience working in a municipal and/or community setting in recreation or special events.
Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people such as volunteers, committee members, and municipal officials.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable speaking in public.
Able to work independently.
Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects.
Project management and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent computer and social media skills
Enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies for the semester preceding the upcoming summer and returning to full-time post-secondary studies in the following September (proof of enrolment required)
