Role Description
We are looking for a dynamic Fashion Designer / Merchandiser / Stylist who can take ownership of the entire creative and commercial journey — from concept design to styling, merchandising, and sales. At Katha – A Tale of Weaves, this role ensures that our collections not only embody cultural storytelling and textile heritage but also reach the right customers and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development Create seasonal collections inspired by Indian weaves and crafts.
Develop sketches, mood boards, and technical packs for production.
Collaborate with artisans to modernize traditional techniques.
- Merchandising
Plan assortments and product ranges aligned with studio vision and market demand.
Track inventory, sales trends, and customer feedback to refine collections.
Ensure timely production and quality control.
- Styling
Curate looks for campaigns, photoshoots, and fashion shows.
Develop styling guides for retail and digital platforms.
Maintain brand consistency across all visual merchandising.
- Sales & Client Engagement
Support in-store and studio sales by guiding clients through collections.
Conduct styling consultations and personalized fittings.
Collaborate with marketing teams to drive festive campaigns and digital sales.
Build strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Provide feedback from sales floor to design/production teams for continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in design, merchandising, styling, and sales.
- Strong knowledge of Indian textiles and sustainable fashion.
- Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills.
- Ability to balance creative vision with commercial outcomes.
