Position: Fashion Journalist

We are looking for a fashion journalist who will be responsible for writing and publishing compelling, accurate, and engaging stories for ShilpaAhuja.com. This role involves researching, reporting, and writing stories that inform, educate, and entertain readers. The fashion journalist will report to the editor or editor-in-chief.

About you

You are good at writing and have a knowledge of fashion, pop culture, celeb style, luxury brands and women’s lifestyle. You enjoy learning new things and working hard. You are sincere, a good team-worker, able to work under tight deadlines and can handle multiple assignments simultaneously. You are a self-starter.

Skills You Know or Want to Learn

  • Fashion writing, WordPress, SEO, Photoshop, Google Trends, Photography etc.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to write for different audiences and styles
  • Keeping up the standards we have set for journalism, including accuracy, fairness, and impartiality

    • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field
  • 0-2 years of experience writing and producing content for digital media platforms
  • A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates writing and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with web content management systems, such as WordPress
  • Ability to work independently from a remote location, and availability for daily or weekly for online meetings.
  • Interviewing & research skills, such as reaching out to and interviewing designers, bloggers, etc. as required for your stories.

    • Job Responsibilities

    • Research latest fashion trends for new topic ideas & discuss with the editor
    • Research relevant keyword for new articles
    • Curating images of runway collections
    • Writing articles on fashion advice, beauty trends, lifestyle, celebrity fashion and latest collections of high street brands.
    • Contacting fashion and beauty brands for press releases and updates, or interviewing people like designers, stylists, etc. for your stories.
    • Photo editing, collage creation and designing blog imagery
    • Doing SEO, composing your article on WordPress, incorporating feedback and edits, creating featured image, tracking the performance of your stories on the web & social media.
    • Scheduling community updates on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.

    Salary

    Salary will be commensurate with your qualifications, experience, performance and deliverables.

    Reporting

  • The office is located in Vadodara. Official work hours are Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm. This is a remote job, and you may work flexible hours once in a while as long as you’re available for team meetings and meet your deadlines.
  • You will be expected to meet article publishing or other monthly work targets, which will be mutually decided during the interview, based on your qualifications and experience.
  • Part-time jobs can be considered.
  • Candidates must have a laptop.
