About the People Inc. Fellowship Program

The People Inc. Fellowship Program runs from June 2026 to May 2027. The program offers candidates the opportunity to gain experience working remotely. Fellows work full-time and are paid $18/hour.

Location: Burlington, VT or remote

Simply Recipes is here to help you cook delicious meals with less stress and more joy. We offer recipes and cooking advice for home cooks, by home cooks. Helping provide “kitchen wins” is the whole reason we’re here.

Simply Recipes was founded in 2003 by Elise Bauer as a home cooking blog to record her favorite family recipes. Today, Simply Recipes has grown into an invaluable, trusted resource for home cooks with more than 3,000 tested recipes, guides, and meal plans, and new content publishing daily. The site draws over 15 million readers each month from around the world, employs a team of full-time remote editors, and is supported by a diverse group of recipe developers, food writers, recipe and product testers, photographers, and other creative professionals.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ideate, pitch, and write high-quality digital news and trending content to drive growth through SEO, social, email, syndication, Google Discover and other developing outlets

  • Monitor breaking food news and pitch to the team

  • Clean up pitches from freelancers and our AI-assisted tools to prepare for pitch meetings

  • Run performance data and perform analysis to help inform next steps

  • Program the homepage

  • Create Flipboard storyboards

  • Occasional assignments and first-pass edits to news and trends content

  • Collaborate with social media, email and SEO teams to support content needs on those channels

    • About You: 

    Candidates for this role should have:

  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated passion for, food and home cooking content and digital media

  • Great attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience with, and interest in developing, writing skills

  • Interest is building editing skills

  • Openness to receiving feedback on your work

    Pay Range

    Hourly: Remote US: $18.00

    The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
