Job Title: Field Service EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to diagnose complex engineering issues, optimize machine performance, and provide hands-on support at customer sites. This role combines mechanical and electrical/controls expertise across machine build, commissioning, and field service responsibilities. This position requires 50%-75% travel, with approximately half of that involving overnight stays.

Responsibilities



+ Collaborate with engineering teams during machine builds and provide feedback for improvements.



+ Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and runoff.



+ Resolve mechanical and electrical issues.



+ Address pneumatic and hydraulic issues.



+ Train customers on proper operation and troubleshooting.



Essential Skills



+ 3+ years of Field Service experience.



+ Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.



+ PLC programming and troubleshooting: AB, Siemens, Fanuc.



+ HMI interfacing with CNC Programming machines.



+ Troubleshooting within mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.



+ Ability to travel up to 75%.



Additional Skills & Qualifications



+ Experience in PLC programming from scratch.



+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.



Work Environment

The engineering team engages in exciting projects within the R&D Lab and works on multi-million dollar machines. There is a strong emphasis on work-life balance. Our operations serve as a Tier 1 supplier to GM & FCA for engine lines, with future projects anticipated with Ford. The team consists of 5 members including controls engineers, mechanical engineers, and coordinators. The average workweek is 45 hours from Monday to Friday, with overtime paid for hours worked over 40.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Lansing, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
