Join our team in Madrid as a System Field Service Engineer, where you will be a member of the Spain & Portugal Service group, with focus on providing professional and suitable after-sale support to the Emerson Automation Solutions Customer base for all CSS (Control Systems and Software), including support for first line maintenance and repair services, site installation, commissioning and start-up. The System Field Service Engineer is responsible for executing this work in accordance with the Emerson standards of safety and quality.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Assisting customers in the resolution of Emerson Automation Solutions product and application problems, predominantly for our DeltaV and Ovation Control System:
  • Acting as first customer contact during project warranty and after warranty period as a team member or independently
  • Performing investigation, troubleshooting, resolution and recommendation to issues identified in customer installation in a range of current DeltaV and Ovation products, third party connectivity products, cyber security products, windows system installation, working independently or under minimum supervision
  • Independently performing services on site, as well as remotely, scheduled services and on-call services
  • Executing DCS migrations, evergreens, service and other small projects independently or under minimum supervision
  • Where necessary initiate and coordinate support from the Emerson Regional/Global Support Centers.
  • Participating on the On-call rotation

    For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Degree in an engineering discipline, such as industrial, computer science, control systems or automation. (Minimum technical College level).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Service or Instrument Engineer in a process control / power plant environment with a particular emphasis on installation, commissioning and start-up.
  • Have a good understanding and experience of programming and IT/OT systems
  • Strong communication skills and technical competencies in line with job responsibilities.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English –written and spoken.
  • Car driving license and availability to travel
  • Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience in power generation or industrial processes will be an advantage. 
  • Experience in repair and servicing of DeltaV and Ovation Control System will be an advantage
  • Experience in other Distributed Control Systems or PLC´s will be an advantage
  • A good understanding of C&I theory including Control loop configuration and tuning
