JBT Marel is looking for a skilled and customer‑focused Field Service Engineer (electrical / mechanical) to join our Service team, based from our Madrid office and supporting customers across Spain and Portugal . This is an exciting opportunity to work hands‑on with advanced food processing equipment in a dynamic, international environment where people, performance, and partnership truly matter.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and fault diagnostics at customer sites across Spain and Portugal.
  • Provide accurate, detailed, and timely service visit reports following all on‑site activities.
  • Deliver electrical / mechanical‑focused technical support for machinery within your area of responsibility, advising customers on maintenance best practices, spare parts, and available upgrades.
  • Identify recurring technical issues or trends and proactively share insights with your manager and the wider Service team.
  • Train customers on machine operation, maintenance routines, safety standards, and cleaning procedures.
  • Support the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of Service Department working procedures.
  • Respond to technical questions from customers, fellow technicians, and the sales team.
  • Identify potential sales opportunities and support the Sales organisation by providing technical expertise and customer‑focused assistance.
About You

You are a hands‑on mechanical engineer who takes pride in delivering high‑quality service and building strong customer relationships. You work confidently and independently in the field, communicate clearly, and remain flexible when managing travel, customer priorities, and service demands.

You enjoy being part of a collaborative international team, sharing best practices, and ensuring customers receive reliable, professional support at every visit.

You’ll Bring
  • An electrical / mechanical engineering background with strong hands‑on troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
  • A customer‑first mindset with a genuine commitment to service excellence.
  • The ability to work independently in a remote, field‑based role while staying connected to the wider Service team.
  • Good working knowledge of digital tools such as Salesforce, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills in Spanish and English (Portuguese is an advantage).
  • A valid driving licence.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in an electrical / mechanical service or field engineering role, ideally within food processing or industrial environments.
  • Experience working directly at customer sites in a service‑oriented capacity.
  • Exposure to multinational or multicultural customer environments is beneficial.
Travel & Location
  • Based from our Barcelona office, with primary responsibility for customers across Spain and Portugal.
  • High level of travel required, with flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends when necessary.
  • A company car is provided as part of the role.
